I was sitting in a local Starbucks, waiting for a familiar face and a new one to appear through large window. Morgan is one of my daughter's very good friends since high school, and she was introducing me to her fiance, Moses, to talk about our engagement shoot plan. When Moses walked in, following Morgan's bright smile, I immediately had to look up. He is a football player with stern look and statue that can intimidate any opponents. I got us drinks and a snack for Moses, which he received gracefully with "thank you ma'am." As a mom who is raising a football player to be a gentleman, this warmed my heart and made me smile.

"So...tell me about when you first met Morgan." I asked Moses. His face lit up and relaxed into a huge grin. He started to share about their first meeting in a little uncomfortable tone, but by the time he said "within 2 weeks I knew 'she was the one' for me", he was telling the story with such a compelling confidence. I felt incredibly honored to be able to be a part of their love story by capturing their engagement, and the wedding in next Spring.

The weather didn't cooperate with our shoot, but since Moses attends college out of town, we had to work it out with what we had. I arranged a nostalgic studio in downtown which also gave us access to an amazing outdoor scenery. Most engagement shoots are done outdoor, but it is good to have some alternative and creative indoor options, as well as a couple of themes that actually take advantage of rain. It was so hot and humid, my hair was wet and curly by the time we were done shooting. But it was all well worth it! :)
